HISTORY 5 November 2008

Folks, I have been a part of history.  And it doesn’t matter whether you voted for Obama or you voted for McCain.  Either way, you have been a part of history too.

We have finally elected a black man as President.  We have elected a man who gives us hope.  We have elected a man who may finally bring the necessary change, change that couldn’t be implemented as long as we were voting rich white men into office.  The excitement in our nation is palpable.  I myself have goosebumps, and I was on the verge of tears when the news networks began saying that Obama had won the election.

Can’t you feel it??  This time the people have spoken, this time the people have won.  This time, the people have handed down a real mandate, instead of what’s happened in the last two elections.  Our voices have been heard!

We can do this!!!  Together, we can.  And change is in the air.
